Training and Education (TAE) Programs

TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development

This qualification provides skills for training developers and instructional designers who are responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. They may have a role in providing guidance and advice to trainers and assessors, promoting innovative practices, e.g. e-learning, and in researching and incorporating best practice in training and assessment into training programs and products.

Prerequisites: TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or extensive vocational experience in a training and assessment role. All applicants must have access to an actual or simulated VET (or similar) workplace environment in order to undertake practical program elements and assessment tasks.


Full-time: Includes three consecutive days of training each month over one semester (or six month period). Classes generally run from 8.30am until 4.30pm

Students will be enrolled for a maximum 12 month period to allow sufficient time to complete all evidence requirements. 


Semester 2 (September - December) - subject to minimum enrolment numbers


Classes are held at the Women's College at UQ St Lucia campus (dependent on minimum numbers)
